This week we have a Mercury retrograde in Virgo on Sunday 13 August 2017 lasting for three weeks. Whenever a planet goes retrograde it does the reverse affects of what it does when it is going direct. Mercury goes retrograde three times a year most of the time. By rule this is not a good time to sign any important documents, make any important decisions and start anything brand new as more than likely things will change once mercury goes direct again. There are definitely exceptions to the rule depending on the circumstance. As Mercury is the planet that helps us communicate our thoughts and deliver our communication whether in person or using technology, when it is retrograde it makes us internalize our thoughts and makes us very introspective over this period. Mercury takes you back over old thought patterns that you may have glossed over and now have to take a deeper look into things (possibly need to address an issue you never got around to). It also will make communication more confusing as there will be misunderstandings as we are not as clear with our communication. Around mercury retrogrades you can expect to be delayed when trying to get some where fast, miss appointments by getting the days/times mixed up, and technical break downs with technology and cars so triple check everything to avoid this. Time also feels like it is goes very slow.  To know where Mercury is dragging you back to ponder over more, look to the house in your Natal chart ruled by Virgo/Leo. For the collective this Mercury retrograde is asking us to review our health & fitness, daily routine and what we do for work and our relationship with work colleagues.  Mercury will pop back into Leo (the sign before Virgo) so issues to do with self love and how we communicate love will also be themes.  It is a great time to meditate, review things and brainstorm ideas for when mercury goes direct.
